Auto Provisioning - Add Server URL to Devices in Bulk
Posted by Albert Diaz, Last modified by Erick Bruce on 16 April 2021 10:04 AM

While SIP devices can be manually pointed to the provisioning server for auto configuration, it is also possible to automatically point devices in bulk. This is particularly useful for larger installations.

**Always factory reset your phone before trying to auto provision it.

Using the Routers DHCP Options feature.

This requires that the customers router support DHCP options. Please check the manual for the SIP device model being installed to confirm what DHCP option it requires. You can then activate that option on the customers router and point it to the RingLogix provisioning server URL.

Yealink Redirect and Provisioning Service

RPS is a free service for Yealink customers all over the world. By simply entering the MAC address of an IP phone and the URL of the provision server into Yealink’s RPS server, upon initial boot-up the phone can be redirected to its pre-assigned server for configuration updating. Contact your hardware distributor or check here for more information.

To register a device per the RPS, please do the following:
  1. Add a Yealink phone or device to a User.
  2. Factory Reset the Device.
  3. The device will boot up and register automatically.
*Note: The device must not be bound to another Enterprise.

Polycom Zero Touch Provisioning Solution

Polycom offers Zero Touch Provisioning as a cloud-based provisioning solution to service providers and channel partners so they can more easily deploy VoIP Devices. This service is particularly suited to larger deployment scenarios and is designed to fit easily into any activation and provisioning processes you currently use. Using ZTP can reduce your operating costs because it removes the need to either "open the box" at a distribution center or send skilled technicians to the customer site to enter pre-provisioning information through the phone's UI or Web interface. Contact your hardware distributor or check here for more information.

To register a device per the ZTP, please do the following:

  1. Add a Polycom phone or device to a User.
  2. Factory Reset the Device.
  3. The device will boot up and register automatically.
*Note: The device must not be bound to another Enterprise.
