*Please be aware that the Ethernet port on the rear is for console connection only. WAN port is port
Ether 1.


Plug in power and connect pc to port #2 on router.
DHCP comes pre-configured with 192.168.88.0/24
Router IP is 192.168.88.1
Point your browser to Router ip: http://192.168.88.1
You will get this screen:

Click and download Winbox. Save it on your desktopas this is the tool you will be using to configurethe
router.

Open Winbox once downloaded.
Once open, click on the dropdown button in Winbox

This will locate the router. Click on the router MAC to select. Default Username/Password is Admin/”no
password”.  

Then click connect. 

*Do not use Quickset to configure router as this configures the WAN port on the SFP port.

First thing is to configure a new admin password.
Click on System then Users

Double click admin, the click password. Enter new password for router.

Logout and log back in with new password.

 

Now we need to configure WAN interface.
For Non-Static IP installation, router is already configure with a dhcp client that is listening on the WAN
port.
If you need to configure a static ip (Provided by ISP) follow these steps.
First you will need to disable the DHCP client. Click on IP then DHCP Client. Then highlight the first
option and click disable (the red X).

Now we will configure the WAN interface with Staticip.
Click on IP then Addresses. Click the add button.

Now enter your static ip information as xx.xx.xx.xx/xx. Don’t forget to include the /xx which is the
subnet. Select Interface ether1-gateway. After thatclick apply. The system will auto generate the
Network Field.


Next we will configure the gateway. Click IP then Routes.

Next Click the add button. Now enter the Gateway address under “Gateway” and click OK.

Now we need to configure DNS. Click IP then DNS.
Click Add Button and add DNS servers as required.

Your WAN port is now configured. Your router comespreconfigured with DHCP server settings as
192.168.88.0/24. This basic setup will get you connected to the internet.
