Call Trace Improvements

Call Trace Improvements

The Call Trace feature has been updated and provides traces that are far more interactive, and easy to use, and at the same time offer greater insight into call flows.

New Interactive Format

A new .svg format has been added, which will now normalize the look and feel to traces in the portal. For this example, we'll use the portal. You get to call traces much like before:

  1. Log into the Portal
  2. Navigate to your target Domain
  3. Click the Call History icon on top
  4. Click the magnifying icon to the right of the call you wish to view

This will open the .svg file in the browser:

Search

Because of the size of some traces, Ctrl+F can be harder to use. The trace now comes with a built-in search feature.

  1. Open a trace.
  2. Enter the search information into the box provided on the upper left.

Your results will appear highlighted in the text box on the left, allowing you to filter quickly.

Sharing

Sharing is as simple as using the button on the top of the trace.

When clicked, the button will copy a link to the full URL in your clipboard. This can be downloaded or shared as needed. Shared traces are automatically ‍added to another database where they will be held indefinitely, in case they need to be referenced in the future. Keep in mind that events data that is used to create call traces is by default retained for 10 days.
