Enhanced Caller ID - Inbound Caller ID with Name
Posted by Albert Diaz on 01 September 2018 02:38 PM

What is Caller ID Name?

When an inbound call reaches a providers network it only contains the callers caller ID number. It is the responsibility of the phone number provider to "lookup" the caller ID name registered to the number by performing what is referred to as a CNAM Dip. The name is then added to the caller ID information and delivered to the customer.

Caller ID with name is a premium feature and is often referred to as "Enhanced Caller ID".
